Today is my Grandpa's 78th birthday. When he is not reading the bible, he is watching baseball on TV. I think growing up my grandpa secretly wished I was a baseball player but I never gave the sport a chance. However, if in an alternate universe I was a baseball player that is what I would have said.

sometimes, i crack myself up. like really bad. when i was a child my mom made me take piano lessons. during these lessons i would play the piano and sometimes my mind would drift away and think about random things. many times i would think of a funny memory/situation and i would laugh out loud. i think my piano teacher thought i was crazy. sometimes i think i'm the funniest person i know, oh em gee....

damn. i just finished watching summer wars. same director as 'the girl who leapt through time.' i haven't been captivated from start to finish like this in a really long time. a sweet and precious movie that fans of anime or miyazaki should definitely check out.

what are some of your favorite street fighter related memories?

in no particular order:

1.) When I got my first car...2005.
Going from one place to the next without the reliance of others was a big deal for me. Being able to drive to Camelot or Regency every weekend was a great feeling. The excitement I felt while driving there was indescribable. Thinking about match scenarios, what I wanted to do.....then of course the painful drive home where I reminded myself of all the mistakes I made that night.

2.) FFA 3rd STRIKE 3v3 in early 2008.
Yi asked me to team with him. We got 2nd, but honestly we could have won. A lot of great matches between our team and Pyro's. Yi took me under his wing and my career really took off after this.

3.) TOUGEKI 2009 LAST CHANCE 3rd STRIKE QUALS, TOKYO JAPAN
A wonderful experience for me. All of the registered teams were taken into this dark hangar. We all had to kneel down and the teams were chosen one by one. We were the last team chosen. Lights turn on and we see 5 3rd strike h2h cabs in the middle of the room and the tournament started right away. It was truly an honor to play against Kuroda Q.

4.) Great Friends
Being able to meet great people. Particularly my friends from Riverside, UCI, Denjin. I still love you all. I will never forget those great memories ;-)

I was in the shower earlier today and I honestly asked myself this question. The answer is an honest no. Jessica is hot but the thought of even hurting one dog (dawg) is a bummer (bro).

FILM: TRAINSPOTTING
i remember seeing it for the first time in high school. everything about this film blew me away. everyone in the cast looked badass, great soundtrack, just a great work of cinema imo. this movie single handedly sparked my interest in film.

BOOK: THE WIND-UP BIRD CHRONICLE by HARUKI MURAKAMI
i'm really not much of a reader but the last book that i truly enjoyed was this one above. real dreamy storyline, and had a protagonist that i could relate to.

SONG: JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH – AIR
impossible to answer this. the song above is probably not my favorite song, but throughout the years i enjoyed this song very much. a beautiful song that i can come back to time after time.

BAND: FEAR OF TIGERS
this is also impossible to answer. but fear of tigers really produced an incredible EP. lately i've been really digging his stuff + remixes. i feel like he doesn't get the exposure that he deserves.

We decided to check out the Apollo XI field in Van Nuys to see if we could fly our plane. There is something about this place. People of all types of background coming together to do something they love. A neat little place for the weekends. Turns out there were a lot more adjustments to be made before we could take off. Will it fly? I guess we will find out on Friday....

Surprisingly enough, there are many times when I forget that this is my blog. So many things are taken from other people and I rarely post my own original things. So if you are willing to listen, let me tell you about my current thoughts.

Lately, I've been feeling a bit down. I recently announced my retirement from fighting games earlier this week. Mr. Watson set me up with a nice retirement plan and was able to delete my srk account for me. A very surreal moment indeed. It is insanely difficult to just stand up and walk away from something you loved so dearly. I imagine this is how it feels to break away from a 7 year relationship. I think now is a good time to focus my attention to some new hobbies that I want to dive into.

More importantly, I hurt someone. I wronged a friend. I've done something incredibly stupid and careless. While what I did may not directly effect me, my mistake caused irrecoverable damage to a man's reputation. The fact that I can't fix what I have done, makes this situation a difficult pill to swallow. I always used to think that I generally made good decisions. I looked at other people's actions and was quick to point out the bad things about them. I made a poor decision.

I am sorry.

And I'm also sorry to those of you who have read this and got bummed out, haha.

I open my eyes and I realize that I'm in a moving vehicle. I look slightly to the right and I see that my uncle from Seoul is driving the car. We acknowledge each other but we don't say a word. In the midst of this silence, I look directly at the front view window and notice that everything I see is washed out. It was like looking at an old polaroid picture. My uncle finally begins to talk. He quickly states that despite the bad economy his business is still standing strong. I sense some nervousness in his voice. Discretely, I inspect the interior of the car. The floor of the vehicle is quite dirty with papers spread out everywhere. The corners of the car have long, wispy cobwebs. I glance at the steering wheel and notice the rusted Mercedes Benz logo.

After some time, I realize the ride was getting a bit more violent. I look outside and notice that we are driving on a one way highway. We begin going uphill. The hill was so steep that I couldn't even see the top. As the car powered through the highway, a strip of blue peaks through my vision. Higher and higher we went and the strip of blue got bigger and bigger. We reached the top of the hill and all I could see was the majestic, deep blue sea. I don't think I ever saw something so beautiful. I held my breath, it was an incredible view...and down the hill we went. Up and down, side to side, it was like a riding an old rollercoaster. We go up one more time and we start heading down, however, I see that the road finally ends. The road will plunge into the ocean. Fear strikes my heart. My uncle immediately turns to me and quietly says, "I'm scared." With a slow grin, I reply, "me too." And into the water, the vehicle pummels through the sea.
